Avigen is a preclinical Contract Research Organisation and Biotech company advancing the discovery and validation of next-generation cell-based immunotherapies and biologics. Founded as a spin-out from Imperial College London, Avigen combines expertise in immuno-oncology, microfluidics and cell biology to deliver predictive, decision-ready data for therapeutic development.
Across cell therapies and immune cell engagers, Avigen’s proprietary platform addresses a critical gap in preclinical evaluation: accurately measuring the quality of immune–target engagement. By quantifying cellular avidity, the total functional binding strength between living immune and target cells under controlled fluidic force, we provide a more physiologically relevant readout than conventional legacy functional assays.
Our high-throughput, target-specific technology enables parallel testing, stratification, and isolation of effector cells based on functional binding strength and activation behaviour. This allows biotech and pharmaceutical teams to identify superior constructs earlier, de-risk go/no-go decisions and improve alignment between in-vitro findings and in-vivo performance.
Working across modalities including CAR-T, TCR-T, NK, CAR-NK, CAR-iNKT, TIL, and cell engager programmes, Avigen supports streamlined development and confident therapeutic translation, reducing cost, time, and uncertainty in preclinical pipelines.
