Imaging within biological sciences research, or bioimaging, is an area of significant importance. Cutting edge bioimaging technologies play a pivotal role in advancing basic discovery science, enabling scientists to generate fundamental insights into living systems (microbes, plants, pathogens) which can have translational outcomes in both biological and soil science that contribute to productivity and the bio-economy. Imaging techniques are used in the study of molecules and cells, tissues and whole organisms and are therefore widely used to underpin BBSRC, EPSRC and wider UKRI funded research.
Rothamsted Research’s bioimaging facility provides equipment and training dedicated to facilitating cutting-edge science through the provision of up to date and advanced imaging equipment and expertise in the life sciences. Our facility is open to all investigators, internal research staff, collaborators and external clients. Our team has specialist expertise and we provide access, training and a fully managed service as required. We provide light, fluorescence, and electron microscopy services.
In addition to imaging, we provide:
