Rothamsted Enterprises was established in 2015 with four key business areas in our portfolio: Rothamsted Agri-Tech Business Centre; Rothamsted Manor; Rothamsted Conference Centre and Rothamsted Restaurant.
We have a variety of office and lab spaces for rent as well as a newly refurbished hotdesking hub, a superb, spacious conference centre, a popular local café, and a Grade 1 listed weddings and events venue.
Rothamsted Enterprises is built on a strong, diverse, and financially sound platform that capitalises on the facilities on site and our excellent transport links.
We are proud to be part of the Rothamsted family – a campus steeped in agricultural science history thanks to the discoveries of our founder Sir John Lawes and all that have followed in his footsteps.
Our team culture is supportive, friendly, honest, hardworking and ambitious.
Our commitment to learning and development, equality and diversity enable a welcoming environment for all prospective employees. We have an attractive benefits package including 28 days annual leave (incl bank holidays), free lunch and hot drink daily from the café, discounts on other food and drink purchases, a generous pension scheme and an attractive campus close to nature, offering walks and recreational activities – such as tennis courts, and a small gym.
Rothamsted Enterprises is a commercial entity owned by the Lawes Agricultural Trust, Rothamsted Research and BBSRC. The income generated is gifted back to the partners to ensure long-term financial sustainability for science and research.
Our values are extremely important to us all and it’s no coincidence that the acronym for our values is RARE.
Relationships are one of the four pillars of the Rothamsted Enterprises brand. We actively develop and nurture internal relationships. We feel proud of Rothamsted Enterprises as a great place to work. We are a supportive team, both onsite to clients, tenants and staff, and externally to new prospects and referrers. We thrive on building new partnerships with tenants, external businesses, internal stakeholders and staff. We facilitate and enable collaboration, through the Incubation Centre and Innovation Hub, through the conferences we deliver, through our close relationship with Rothamsted Research, and through being a business meeting point locally.
Rothamsted Enterprises enables innovation and collaboration, to drive forward agritech research from agritech businesses, which will ultimately deliver new science. We can support these businesses by providing them with access to world-class scientific facilities and services. We are an integral part of the Rothamsted Campus, to change the world together. As an organisation, we accelerate learning and facilitate business growth by giving our tenants access to strategic partners and investors as well as extensive training opportunities.
The financial results of Rothamsted Enterprises are a key focus for the whole team. We enable and create impact on society through innovation and collaboration. We create employment in the local community and provide excellent career opportunities and job satisfaction for our people. We aim to achieve occupancy rates of 80% in our event venues. We want to achieve growth across the portfolio, increased brand awareness and enquiry numbers. Importantly, this growth should be via us securing the right type of business and clients. We are each of us developing successful relationships with staff, clients, tenants, local, regional and national businesses, and the international agritech community. We want happy customers internally and externally. As a business, we will deliver on clients’ needs, get things done and be a solutions provider.
