Harpenden’s hidden gem, the stunning Grade 1 listed Rothamsted Manor has re-opened. Following the introduction of recent COVID-19 Government guidelines, we can now hold wedding ceremonies at the Manor for up to 15 people, whilst adhering to social distancing. (Though, as a licensed venue, our normal capacities for wedding ceremonies and receptions are much higher).
The Manor is the perfect Hertfordshire wedding and events venue with sustainability, history and tailored customer service at its heart. Rothamsted Manor is the ideal location for civil ceremonies, wedding receptions, corporate dinners, afternoon teas, awards ceremonies and much more.
With 12 acres of gardens and set amongst beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, Rothamsted Manor is located on the historically significant Rothamsted Estate, home to some of the world’s oldest and most important agricultural research experiments.
It has often featured as a filming location in several TV, music and film productions, more recently including ITV’s Endeavour and Mother Father Son.
Another little-known fact about the Manor is that during WWII it was requisitioned for use by the military and became a listening post, recording and feeding messages to Bletchley Park for decoding.
Nicole Sadd, CEO at Rothamsted Manor said: “It is such a pleasure to see Rothamsted Manor open again. The buildings and grounds have played a huge part in Rothamsted’s agricultural research heritage. The estate is rich in history. It’s a real hidden gem. We are very focused on our approach to sustainability at Rothamsted and our offering at Rothamsted Manor really showcases this. The Manor has been completely rebranded, our chefs have developed a new suite of delicious, sustainable menus, and we’ve created a new package that is transparent and caters for a variety of events and budgets. For events in 2021 and beyond, all catering will be done onsite by our inhouse kitchen team. For any couples looking to get married here in 2020, food vans and external caterers can be arranged.
We’re really delighted to be re-opening and very much look forward to providing sustainable, client-focused events at the Manor for years to come.”
