The Russell Building was constructed between 1914 and 1918 on the site of the old soil laboratories and was later used as the Rothamsted Institute’s administrative offices and library. After being vacant since around 2014, a major refurbishment began in 2020 with a £1.7 million investment from Hertfordshire Futures and Hertfordshire Innovation Quarter, and was reopened in 2021.
The Russell Building now offers 22 modern, flexible offices in this beautiful historic building, bathed in natural light and period features.
