
The Russell Building, on the Rothamsted Research campus in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, was constructed between 1914 and 1918 and was officially opened in 1919. It originally housed the soil laboratories and was later used as the Institute’s administrative offices and library.
Over one hundred year’s later, the Russell Building continues to be a vibrant and dynamic R&D hub – where agri-tech visionaries turn cutting edge scientific research into practical, workable solutions.

The Russell Building was newly renovated during 2020, and opened in 2021. It offers office space in a beautiful historic building, bathed in natural light and period features.
