Rothamsted Restaurant and Lawns

Rothamsted Restaurant is a wonderfully light and airy space, with a high ceiling, floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the conservatory area, and a separate bar area. This means that for clients who book this space in the evenings, you can be completely self-contained in this space should you wish.

The restaurant itself can be used to host a range of functions, including gala dinners, banquets, team dinners, lunches, parties, seasonal events, comedy nights, quiz nights, team-building events, christening celebrations, family occasions, wakes and so much more.

With a built-in sound system which is run from the Fowden Hall AV booth and a TV screen on the wall, it is perfect for both relaxed and formal dinners. Open during the day as a café, it offers fresh food to the public and Rothamsted staff, students and tenants.

Please note that whilst the restaurant space is open to the public Monday to Friday 9am-3pm, if you have an enquiry for a private booking during this time, do get in touch as we do sometimes close the space to the public if required. The space is also available for evenings during the week and at weekends.

The restaurant can accommodate up to 250 people for a Standing Reception, or 120 for a Banquet. 

Restaurant Lawns
Our restaurant lawns are a versatile outdoor seating area, perfect for BBQs, team-building events, Classic British Picnics, summer parties and drinks receptions. The sky’s the limit!
Why not combine the restaurant and lawn spaces for a bigger bash! Just imagine, a wonderful banquet, or a party with live music or entertainment, where you and your guests can gently spill out onto the lawn to enjoy a drink in the evening sun.

When combining both the restaurant and lawns spaces, we can accommodate up to 350 people for a standing reception.
